HANGING SNAKE'S IN MEXICO

They are non-poisonous constrictor snakes found in tropical Central and South America. The size of the snakes varies by species, but they can be up to 30 feet long. Also the TROPICAL RAT SNAKE is common  in Mexico, especially in the region of the Yucatan Peninsula. They are black with yellow, are often found near water and adults may attain a maximum length of 4 m.

Six species of bats are known to frequent the cave, giving the snakes a varied spread. When the bats swarm in or out of the cave en masse, the snakes slide down from their crevice homes. Dangling down, they pluck the tasty morsels right out of the air with their mouths.
Local people are committed to preserving this cave. They also know that it helps bring tourists into the area.
